Midland Highland Festival Open to the Public
White Pine Sponsors Highland Festival in Midland, MI
The White Pine Celtic Arts Council will be hosting a Highland Festival in
Midland on Saturday, June 14th, 2008 at Chippewassee Park near downtown Midland!
The public is welcome and there is no entrance fee. Events will include:
Caber Toss, Stone Throw, Sheep Herding, and Highland Dancing, along with 4 pipe
bands from around the area. There will be food and other vendors available on-site as well.

Schedule of Events:
8 AM - 5 PM: Heavy Events with the Highland Athletes
Noon: Opening Ceremonies with Massed Bands
Afternoon Activities:
Live Celtic music in the spectator tent
12:30 - 1:00 Highland Dancing demonstration
1:30 & 3:30 Border Collie and sheep demonstration
Pipe Band Performances:
1:00 Midland Highlanders
2:00 Ann Arbor Pipes and Drums
3:00 White Pine Pipes and Drums
4:00 Cabar Feidh Pipes and Drums
5 PM - Closing Ceremonies with the massed bands
Location: Chippewassee Park - Over the Tridge in downtown Midland.

The park can be accessed from Golfside Dr., from the Farmer's Market area of downtown
Midland and also the St. Charles Park area.
Children's activities hosted by the ROCK youth center.
Admission: Free to all ages!
Downtown Activities: Great shopping, superb restaurants, fabulous coffee, and a Loons game to boot!
Funding for the Midland Highland Festival comes from the White Pine Celtic Arts Council, area businesses, and private individuals.
